Rare Bird Found at CK May Festival Of Flight

It makes no difference if you are a novice or a seasoned BIRD WATCHER, you have a treat in store for you in May atRondeau Provincial Park in CHATHAM-KENT just outside of Chatham. The annual spring migration "Festival Of Flight" attracts thousands of visitors from all over the country to this area. There is a schedule of events planned or you can chose your own agenda. Check out the birdwatchers website and decide what fits your schedule. This year's event takes place May 2-18/2015. There are daily Bird Hikes, a 24 hour Bird Watching Event May 9-10 for the seasoned watchers and even an Absolute Beginners Bird Hike on Fridays at 1P.M. There is something for everybody.

In past years birders have got a look at some rare visitors to the area. In May 2005, the Kirkland's Warbler made an appearance. In 2008, the Townsend Warbler and in 2010 the Blue Grosbeak stopped in Rondeau Provincial Park during the spring migration. You can be sure to be in your glory if you enjoy birding.The seasonal returnees such as the Prothonotary Warblers and many other beautiful creatures can be sighted.

Rondeau Provincial Park in Chatham-Kent is the second oldest Ontario Park dating back to 1894. It is nestled deep in Carolinian Canada and it's forest is home to several rare species of trees as well as birds. Visit the Rondeau Provincial Park and read all about it.
