Anti-Dieters Rejoice - May 6th is OUR DAY!
Whether we admit it or not, it seems that we are all watching what we eat! YUCK and YUCK and more YUCK! Yes, I realize that we are all being non-GMO'd, gluten-freed etc. to death and yes, I have no doubt that for some people it's extremely important - I believe in the non-GMO movement by the way. HOWEVER, every day that my Fitbit doesn't buzz notifying me that I haven't done enough steps, every day that I realize that the parking way out in the parking lot to get in more steps to begin with just isn't enough, my frustration increases. It seems that every single conversation begins with food! My clients ask where the best restaurants are and then want blow by blow accounts of what the menu items are and why they're delicious. Our admins often will steal away to the fast food places on Hilton Head and grab fries whereupon the entire office reeks with that smell - which at first seems good but then not so much. I smell the fish frying across the street at the Sea Shack - and though I really do think about always getting the salad with the grilled fish on top and no dressing, the sweet potato fries and the fried shrimp beckon.
So, imagine my genuine happiness when I read my strange calendar from Bottom Line and it said "NO DIET DAY" for May 6th - tomorrow!!!! Now no, I'm not going to eat Blizzards - though it did come to mind very quickly, and no, those IHOP croissant waffle things don't look any more appetizing, but - it's really just the relief that for one day I will be more calm that if I don't get my long run in, if I don't get the number of steps in, if I have more than 4oz of meat, it just might be OK.
So to all of you out there - TOMORROW IS OUR DAY! May 6th should be always marked on our calendars for just a little bit of peace!
