Well I saw the weather report tonight and even though summer won't officially arrive until June, the summer temperatures will be here tomorrow. The rest of the week promises high 80s and into the 90s. I might melt at my daughter's graduation at 2 in the afternoon on Saturday. But I do love summer in Georgia. Yes, it's hot and sticky, but Lake Sinclair is a great place to cool off. I love to go take a swim after work and my dogs Laney and Glen love the water too.
There are some fantastic places to camp. And while I'm not a camper, I do enjoy day trips to Putnam Beach. It has a roped off swim area, bath houses, picnic tables and paved roads. I've had my daughter's birthday party there in the past where she and her friends could go swimming. There are also boat docks and a ramp for launching your boat as well as camper and tent sites available.
There is Oconee Springs Park. It's also a really nice place. They even have a little store. They also have some cabins as well as camper spots. And there is a wonderful beach for spending the day in the sand and on the lake shore and a roped off swim area.
There is Little River Park that allows both tent and campers and has a restaurant on site as well. Jackson's is also one of my favorite places to eat.
So if you want to come camping at my lake there are some lovely places to camp. There are some really nice hotels also.
