When you make the decision to sell your home, it’s important to ensure your home stands out as much as possible. Potential buyers will see plenty of great houses like yours, so even the littlest of things can make a huge difference. Just remember, the devils in the details.
Remove Reminders of You
A quick and easy fix is simply to just remove family photos. You want buyers to be able to project themselves into the space and imagine what it would be like if they lived there. Having reminders that someone that’s not them current lives there will take them out of the moment and you just might lose them.
Paint
Look, we all know your teal walls speak to you. You want your house to be your house. However, you’ll want your house to be a bit of a blank canvas for buyers to enter and be filled with thoughts of its potential. Touch up the paint and tone down the statement colors.
Make it stand out
As I said earlier, buyers will see a ton of great houses. Now ask yourself, which house will they remember – the one with the beautiful and well-manicured yard, or the one that looks like a koala bear with narcolepsy was in charge of mowing?
Hide the clutter
Simply investing in baskets to hide things such as TV remotes and magazines can make a drastic difference when showing a home. You want potential buyers to be able to breathe in your home. Having too much clutter can make it seem smaller and messy.
Get it cleaned
Having your home cleaned before showing is a great idea. Buyers will notice when they walk through. Nothing is worse than showing a home with unpleasant odors or stains. Get it cleaned and keep it clean!
Selling your home without a good agent (me!) can be stressful with lots of steps to figure out to make it work. If you have any questions on what improvements to make to get more value on your house, I'd love to hear from you.
