Host a Neighborhood Yard Sale for Marketing Your Listing

A real estate class recently taught me a great idea that I had never heard before.  Host a neighborhood yard sale for a subdivision where you have a listing.  That will help your listing get rid of some clutter as they are preparing to move, as well as get people into the neighborhood to see your listing.  Hold an open house at the same time as the yard sale to get some great traffic!  Your sellers will love it!

I agree what a great idea. It also seems like an easy way to approach the problem of clutter...."Since you will be moving soon..."

Barb...

We do this in Florida and have had excellent results with it.

We also have our Seller's do garage sales instead of open houses. That is also quite effective...

Not to mention the fact that it kills two birds with one stone.

The Listing gets exposure and the Seller's have the  opportunity to get rid of the junk they don't want instead of taking it with them :)

They also can use the cash they make at the garage sale to paint something :)

TLW...ROAR!

I have used this idea and also sponsor my own community yard sale each year. Great way to network with the neighbors. I actually wrote a blog about the success of this last fall.

Outstanding idea-thanks for the reminder.

Love this idea...wish I would have read it a couple of weeks ago. Our largest neighborhood just had their neighborhood garage sale and I would have held an open house..great idea!

Great idea!  I will have to pass this along to Realtors in my area!
