Paul - I hear you. Every State has it's pluses and minuses. I'd rather take living in Arizona than being in tornado alley, dealing with the constant threat of earthquakes in California, or withstanding the brutal winters back East.

I think I've been brainwashed into believing peaches grow in GA. I never knew they grew in AZ too! Those look delicious and I'll bet the annual Peach Fest is something that keeps growing every year  because more and more people would find it tempting!

By the way, keep me posted when you head out to Austin in OCT. Yes!!! I'd love to meet up with you!

Hi, Nicole...we have a peach festival in my area, too, but mine comes at the end of summer. LOL. There's a difference in our regions. Great localism post.

I love peaches just before they ripen.  They are still sweet and crunchy with a lot of flavor....  tasty

Looks delicious Nicole.  And, I must admit my ignorance as I had no clue that they grew peaches in Arizona.

Patricia - It's sometime in the middle of October I think. I'll have to find the invite again. It's buried somewhere in my office.

Lou - Last year it was about 10 degrees above normal temperatures so the kids didn't want to stay long. This year should be nice.

Alexandra - I know there are a lot of local events in your area I'd love to attend as well!

Larry - It's crazy the amount of food items they make using the peaches. Stuff you'd never even think of but it's all very good.

John - Schnepf Farms always puts on great events.

Debbie - Different growing and sprouting seasons for different markets. The corn fields around Gilbert are just starting to sprout. By Summer they'll be nice and tall and ready to harvest all that delicious locally grown sweet corn!

Myrl - The peach season doesn't last as long as the citrus season so people better get out there fast.

Laura - I've always loved peaches and nectarines. I even love plums but I don't know of any farmers locally who grow those.

James - I like them when they are just ripe enough to be soft but not squishy. They are the most juicy at that stage in my opinion.

Gabe - We have several local farms that grow them but Schnepf Farms is the biggest.

Larry - Well that's a bummer. I do like progress but pardon the pun when I say it takes a bite out of the community when great local farms get bought up by developers.

Roger - If you can stay out of the sun it is. It's usually in the mid to high 80's and in Arizona that feels more like 100.
