Beware of www.LocalRealEstateYellowPages.com

Please beware of www.LocalRealEstateYellowPages.com.  They will telemarket you.  They will give you an introductory rate of $395, but what they don't tell you in the fine print is by signing you are authorizing them to automatically renew next year.  I had no idea until I received a phone call from an attorney's office!  When I called the company, they stood firm that I had signed, which I had, but they sure did not make it clear.  The phone representative also mentioned nothing about it.

Please beware!  Barb

I've heard the same thing from quite a few agents.  The only notice you get is when they renew for an additional  year.  Then it's too late.  Great post so everyone will be aware of their "practice".

Hi Barb;

I received a call from LocalRealEstate YellowPages.com. I told them that I am not interested.

Barb - Thanks for the post.  The same thing happen to me a few years ago on a find a local agent website. I do not remember anyone saying that it would renew automatically, and no one called me from the company either.  I knew that I did not authorize a renewal so I just called my bank card company, disputed the charge, had them cancel the card number and issue me another one.  That worked for me.

Beware of this company. All you are reading is true. They never tell you of the renewal clause. They also raise the price from the 400's to 800 per year. Once you try to cancel they will try to bring legal action and force you to continue. These guys are leaches and need to be stopped!

They are trying to bring legal action on me right now!  This is insane!

I am not sure these are real businesses.  They are just in it for the money, not the service.

Beware of this company, DYP LLC!  They are threatening legal action against me as well.  The mystery auto renewal I did not even know about happened nearly 2 months ago, yet I just got a call from their salesperson Bill Faze to let me know about it a couple weeks ago.  He wanted to let me know after advertising with them for an entire year he had just gotten my picture up online, that my old ad had looked like "XXXX", and that he was proceeding with charging me a renewal fee of $800!  Just to let you all know this $800 is totally negotiable and is just another part of their continued scam.  If you can't get out now and don't want your credit ruined, just renegotiate to your origanal fee and refuse to sign the contract.  Bill will draft up a non-renewable contract at a much lower rate just to get his commission.  You might pay the price, but it's lower and you'll be out of business with them within a year.  Bill even said that a "D" rating with the Florida BBB wasn't bad!  I'm sure none of us would've done business with them if we had known.  Very very shady company.......
