Real Estate Agents - Start Listening to Your Clients

 

It appears the real estate industry is about to change again. Lately, my agents (80) have been reporting that their clients have been asking them if they use text messaging as a form of communication. Again...Our Clients Have Asked Us If We Use Text as a form of communication.

 

For the past year, we have resisted texting our clients for fear that they would not like us sending messages to their smart phones. Now, we are starting to see that clients prefer a quick text versus an email or the dreaded voicemail which starts a vicious game of phone tag.

 

Reasons To Use Text Messaging:

 

1) Efficient - Buyers and sellers like the fact that it is quick and to the point. If you need to ask a simple question then do it over text. It saves everyone time. Remember, our clients work also, we are not the only ones that are busy.

If there is a new property that they must see, text them the link so they can view it and have them text you back if they want to set up a showing.

Example: 'Newly listed in your price range. http://www.c21theharrelsongroup.com/property/1506878/. Let me know if you want to see it.'

 

2) Familiar - Today, we text our children, spouse, friends and everyone else. We are more used to texting then we are talking on the phone. Text messaging is familiar.

 

3) Delivery - People are getting too many emails today. Too often, the important emails are getting lost within the junk emails. Your clients want to hear from you. A text assures they get the message.

 

As real estate agents, we must listen to our clients. Though this may be new to our industry, it is what the consumer is asking us to do. It is the agent who can deliver great service and communicate effectively with the consumer that will win in the end.

 

There are many text messaging services on the market today. I am using Convert By Text to deliver and manage my text messages. I can send messages to a group of my clients and manage all of their responses in a very easy to use dashboard.
