Today (April 12th) our temperatures have been in the high 60’s all day, but our weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow predicts lows in the 20’s and the possibility of snow on Monday! What?

I have a blanket of pink ‘pebbles’ which are petals from the 2 ornamental crabapple trees I have in my tiny front yard. The trees are in pinksquirrel, maggie valley nc, localism, buckingtherealestatetrend.com splendor today, hiding those pesky squirrels who empty out my bird feeders every day.

Soon I’ll have my spring visitors again, and I am hoping to see the mallards again. I have a possum living under my deck who survives on cat food and scraps I leave out at night, and occasionally mallards, maggie valley nc, localism, buckingtherealestatetrend.coma skunk visits. The chipmunks haven’t appeared yet, but soon they will be scurrying about my yard, digging holes.

Luckily the bat that I found in a wreath on my front door didn’t stay long. Unaware that he had roosted in my wreath, I slammed the door by accident and only noticed him because when the door slammed he was disturbed and had to climb back to his spot and the movement of his long ‘arms’ caught my eye. He left that night and hasn’t been back. That’s a good thing. bat, maggie valley nc, localism, buckingtherealestatetrend.com

My fledgling magnolia tree has blooms and buds already. It is in need of a gardener.magnolia tree, spring 2008, maggie valley nc, localism, buckingtherealestatetrend.com

It is a beautiful time of year to visit Maggie Valley. Soon the log homes perched on the mountains will be hidden by the beautiful green foliage.

Hi Susie, it looks like nearly everyone had modified their posts her to customize it. I just haven't been able to focus on as yet, hope to soon. Any ideas on the my book theme?

About your post. Today in San Diego where I live it was 94  degrees in the shade and 17% humidity. My flowers are beginning to come up and the bushes are showing lots of new growth. It is Spring and it is a time for rebirth. So I have also done a little personal rebirth and set up some new practices and standards to go along with the big surge in business.

Today was really busy and I am very far behind in comments and posts but I know I will catch up soon. So many great new things I want to write about in our industry that will be enablers for professionals as well consumers.

As I read your post you celebrate the rights of spring and describe the surroundings as almost vision like. From the photos, it certainly is. Great descriptive post and one that captures the imagination.

I love spring. We don't have nearly as many critters as you but we do have quail and the occasional skunk or coyote run through the neighborhood. The spring colors of North Carolina are glorious!
