We are selling the "Brand", ourselves in the way we walk, talk, and communicate. Effective leaders stand apart. This is how.
Body Language: Stand straight, don't slump, it shows a lack of confidence. Exude confidence, when we walk into a room, we want to show authority, confidence and competency.
Eye Contact: It's ok in the business place to look people in the eye, in fact it's recommend to do so 80-90% of the time. It helps you have a stronger connection with that person.
Smile: Don't frown, smiling makes you more agreeable, and helps to build rapport.
Hand gestures: Use your hands above the waist when making gestures. Complex hand gestures reflect complex thinking, it gives listener confidence in the speaker.
Be Passionate: Effective people have have passion. Most people fail to convey their enthusiasm, which shows a lack of energy to their listener.
Be Personable: Establish a rapport by being authentic and personable.
Dress The Part: Don't look disheveled, dress like the leader you want to become. Power of the 1st impression. Wardrobes speak volumes. People take notice of your hair, clothes, and shoes.
Stay Current: Never stop learning about current events, or anything of interest, and share what you learn with your listeners.

Great post. My biggest thing is standing up straight. I am 6'6" and I always get questions or comments on my height and how I make people feel short so I almost always slouch a little so I don't seem quite as tall lol. I don't do it becaue I am unconfident I just do it to make others feel better about themselves :-D
