I wanted to see if I could log on to the internet today.
As you can see from that Yahoo! screen, I was able to do so.
You're no doubt thinking, 'Big deal. So you're on the internet.'
Well there's actually a bit more to it than that. I wanted to see if I could do it with my Palm Treo 700p, working as a wireless modem, and using Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess Connect.
Again, you're probably thinking: 'Whoopee, so it works. A lot of people use their phones as wireless modems.'
Yes, but I was outside.
My laptop was powered using the electrical outlet in my trunk. I can imagine you're saying, 'So what.'
Well, I was in the middle of nowhere.
I will be conducting e-Closings in the state of Colorado. The time to find out that you have glitches in your broadband equipment isn't at the closing table. So, as I mentioned in a previous topic, I will be conducting tests in various parts of the state.
The test today was a success. Not only did I want to test the reliability of Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess Connect, I also wanted to test the speed of it. I was very pleased with the results.
It was cold and windy today in Colorado Springs. I don't expect that I will ever get a call to do a closing in a remote location like this. But if I had to, I would be able.
In addition to the laptop computer and Palm Treo 700p, I have a 800 watt power inverter mounted to the floor, and a laser printer.
I could accept a closing assignment, download the documents from the internet, print them, and conduct the closing. From virtually any location. ...
... Even in the middle of nowhere:

I welcome you to visit the special page that I have set up on my website that shows my equipment in conditions that are far more favorable than what you see in these photos: Mobile Closing Solutions for Colorado.
I want to be able to provide any type of closing service, in any type of conditions, in almost any location in Colorado.
Here are a few more shots.
After a successful test, I'm heading back to Colorado Springs:
A commissioned notary with a notary stamp + mobile office = a closing that can be done almost anywhere in Colorado.
The table is portable enough to fit even in the trunk of a VW Jetta, and with plenty of room to spare:
