Advantages of My BlackBerry and how I use it

As Sprint says, Everything you need, faster!

Highlights:

GPS Enabled- this is great for google map

Broad-band speeds where available- here in NW Indiana, that covers about everything but the City of LaPorte area.  I can plug my phone in my laptop and use it as PAM(phone as a modem).  It really is fast enough to down itunes, pictures and movies.

Key Features:

- Speakerphone - what phone does not have this

- Email/web enabled - when I do not have this on the laptop it is very capable of doing what I need to do to search for information.

                                                     - Bluetooth - I have the new Jawbone it is great

                                                     - Full QWERTY keyboard

I am ready to upgrade this phone, but the new one has a camera on it and offers other Sprint features not on this phone.  I admit that I do not use this to its full extent, but it is a great business tool to keep in contact with Referall Partners and Clients.  I have had several clients refer to me answering emails so fast at night.  I have a bad habit of keep it on me way too much.

That is the one bad thing about this phone it is tough to leave the hustle and bustle of the office behind.  Sprint has a lot of new phones coming out including a new Blackberry Curve.   Any questions feel free to ask.

Can you "read" your electronic lockboxes with the Blackberry?

I am back to a blackberry and love it. No lockbox, so I have to carry the little black box too....

I absolutely love my Treo -- a real estate agent.  No extra black key pad for me (except for Michigan as I'm licensed in both states and although its a Supra system on both sides you cannot have 2 systems on the phone at the same time--bummer).  I was told that the Black Berry is faster on the net than my Treo but I'm very pleased with my net capabilities, it transitions very quickly.  I've even logged onto ActiveRain right onto my phone!  I also check my email on my phone--its very handy since it seems I'm doing business out of my car more than my office!

I've used both a Palm Treo 650 & Treo 700 using Sprint as my phone provider.  Because I use my smart phone heavily, I opted for the total equipment replacement package.  About 18 months into my Treo 650 contract, the phone started having trouble.  Sprint's phone tech support folks were not much help, so I ended up swapping out the phone.  Spring replaced my defective 650 with a 700P (Palm version).  However, they could not provide me with an installation disk (and have not till this day). As a result, I had to give up the use of Top Producer for Palm - (which was a useful little application).

As a technology instructor for my brokerage, I talk to a lot of agents and have seen a trend where agents are switching from Treos to Blackberrys.  Blackberrys seem to have a better track record to reliability (although there is less after-market software available for the Blackberry).

My next phone will be a Blackberry curve - because of the Qwerty keyboard.  Because of connectivity issues in my market area, I'll stick with Sprint.
