Activerain Spring Meetup
Thanks Sarah, it was a pleasure getting to know you and Ray!
Today was the day to meet some of the faces behind Activerain. Raymond E. Camp and I journeyed about 3.5 hours north to meetup with Bob Crane , and his son, Nicholas Crane. This was the first time I had met any of them face to face and what a nice day it was. Lively conversation. Lunch at a nice Adirondack style bar called the ADK Riverside LLC. with a beautiful view of the St. Regis Falls.
Ray drove both ways and his trip was longer than mine having started from his home in Websters, NY. I'm not sure he realized how far off the trail I was, but he said he enjoyed the drive just the same and I have to say Ray is a fascinating man. I seriously enjoyed getting to know him as we traveled.
The scenery was fun too as we saw Amish in the fields plowing with their horse drawn equipment. A fisherman in the middle of the St. Regis River. Shorn sheep grazing in the fields. Lots of sights!!
I also learned about the job Bob and Nick were doing up there and how they travel to various remote spots to complete their jobs. It sounds interesting and they must have a love for it. I'd say it beats a desk job any day hands down. Oh and I met their 4 legged traveling companion. Dogs make all the difference when being away from home.
Thank you, Ray for letting me tag along and thank you, Bob and Nick, for hosting us. A great way to start the week off!!
