Yesterday, Friday from 4pm til 7pm my partner and I held an Open House in a brand new home just recently completed. Over 100 people showed up during that 3 hour period. We provided food, drink, We spent a couple of weeks planning it, we sent out around 400 invitations to our SOI. In the past couple of years we started doing these types of Open Houses instead of the traditional Sat/Sun 2/3 hour put an ad in the paper put a sign up type open house. At first we would get about 20 people, now over 100. My past clients come by even though they are not looking to buy or sell right now. A lot of them I haven't seen in awhile I just ask them on the invitation with a quick handwritten note to stop by and see this wonderful home and have a drink on me. This is a great way to keep in touch with your past clients and they all seem to appreciate the invite. Did we get that house SOLD ? ...No but then that's not what it's all about, it's all about networking. Next week I will be sending thank you cards to all those that showed up.
