Wild West Fest in Carlsbad California
Saturday May 16, 2015
The Annual Carlsbad Wild West Fest will take place this coming Saturday May 16th at the well-known Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park in the Rancho Carrillo area of Carlsbad.
The Wild West Fest is a free event, from 11am until 2 pm, with lot of fun and Western-themed activities for all ages, including a salsa contest, pony and mechanical bull riding, and root beer tasting.
Activity cards(certain events) are $5 and can be purchased at the event to take part in the root beer tasting (including a root beer float), photos with cowboys in authentic dress (who will demo some genuine cowboy stuff like rope tricks!), and rides on the mechanical bull or the tamer ponies, depending on the youngsters preference. Shop at the Trading Post or take part in the salsa tasting for $3.
The Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park is a former working ranch owned and developed by actor, preservationist and philanthropist Leo Carrillo (he played Pancho in The Cisco Kid TV series in the 1950s) and is a designated California historic landmark. It’s a wonderful place to visit anytime, and captures the rich heritage of the west in our Southern California beach town.
