AGENT CARAVANS

I need input on caravans. I would like to know other agents opinons on the subject. There are three questions I have. 1.) On a scale of one to ten how much do they help in marketing real estate? 2.) How many agents show up for out of office caravans? 3.) What would be a good alternative?  Thanks

Hey Scott - I think the weekly agent tour is a critical part of marketing.  Essentially, if the other agents in your area are "sold" on your property, they will tell their clients about it and will show it.  On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 9.

Hi! Welcome to the site. I see this is your first post.

There is a lot of reading on this site. I recommend that you read, read, read and then comment, comment, comment. There are so many different blogs to read. There are tons of topics out there from real estate, marketing, technology, seo, staging, mortgage, etc. It goes on and on. You'll start to get to know people and before you know it... you'll have figured out the benefits of the site.

Also check out Resources for the Active Rain Newbie.

Good luck!

Hi Scott - first of all, welcome to AR.

Caravans are great - we have regional ones that are organized by Fidelity and they do a great job year after year.  Donzens of agents and other affiliates show up.  5-15 properties per event.  I highly recommend it as a way to preview the new listings in your favorite areas.  Agents who offer food at their listings get a good turnout, so every little thing helps, even bottles of cold water.

You can use the info for marketing - take pictures, make a newsletter, it's up to you whether it's a 1 or a 10.
