What used to be known as Springfest in Waxhaw, North Carolina, always held on the third weekend in May, has been renamed to Waxhaw Art Kaleidoscope. Why the change in name? Because this festival will be featuring some 45 fine artisans from stained glass creations to paintings to blown glass to wood furniture, from as far away as Virginia and Tennesee. Over 50 crafters will also be displaying items such as wreaths and jewelry and handbags and jewelry boxes and more. The town of Waxhaw's vision is to transform the Waxhaw Art Kaleidoscope into the region’s premier "work of art," which in future years will include additional art forms ~ culinary arts, musical arts, performing arts, murals, public art forms. In other words, all things art.
Waxhaw Art Kaleidoscope has something for everyone--yard sale, beer garden, carnival games, a kid's zone for games and rides, balloon artists, magicians, clowns, face painters. Plus great food and drink and lots of music. Weather is forecasted to be good, so it's a great weekend to go out and enjoy the first of Waxhaw's spring festivals in downtown Waxhaw. Some 10,000 metro area residents are expected to attend the festival this Saturday and Sunday in Waxhaw, so don't get left behind!
