The Hudson Valley Honors Our Fallen Heroes
These are a few of the parades and local events in the area honoring the memory our countries heroes. Memorial Day marks the beginning of our wonderful summer season. Let it also be a time to pause and remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country and our freedom.
Town of Newburgh NY Memorial Day Parade
Starting at American Legion Hall on Union Avenue in the Town of Newburgh NY on May 24th 2015 Sunday at 1pm
The parade will be led by Capt O'Flanagan
The Parade route is from Union Avene, Route 300, Route 52, Powder Mill Road and ending at Cronomer Park. 845-564-4552, www.townofnewburgh.org if you need more details
City of Newburgh NY Memorial Day Parade
Monday May 25th 2015 at 10am. Line- up for the parade begins at 9am on Third Street facing West. The parade will go on rain or shine and ends at Washington Headquarters with ceremonies to follow. All are encouraged to stay. More details on the event can be found on the city website here.
Town of Monroe Memorial Day Parade
Sunday May 24th begins at 1:30pm at Smith Clove Park in Monroe and continues along Route 17M to the Monroe Cemetery.

If a parade is not your thing, be sure to see what is happening at George Washington's Headquarters. See the museum and learn more about the history of our county. Early beginnings of our country happened right here in Newburgh. A very interesting presentation on Memorial Day.
