Come Be Part of the Largest Military parade in North Carolina's History!
On April 26, 2008 at 10 a.m. - the parade, "Salute to Our Troops", will begin heading North at the intersection of Fayetteville and Davie Streets in Raleigh, NC. The event is being organized by the North Carolina Bankers Association.
F-15E Strike Eagle jets from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will mark the beginning of the day-long celebration, which will include:
Members of the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard, as well as military bands.
10:00 a.m.- Flyover of F-15E Strike Eagle jets, after which the parade procession begins.
11:30 a.m. Military Display of equipment, including weapons, armored vehicles, the making of dog tags, etc. Also, the North Carolina Pork Council will be providing free samples of pork tenderloin.
In addition, at this time, there will be a display of NASCAR Sprint Cup teams show cars sponsored by different areas of the military - plus driver simulation electronics will be available for use by the public.
11:30 a.m. - Active duty and Reserve personnel and their families will have enjoy family fun with at least a dozen rides, slides, and games.
11:30 a.m. - Musical and entertainment by national and local talent, as well as by members of the military.
12:00 p.m. (Noon)- Military personnel (Active Duty and Reserves) and their familes will be served food prepared by the Pork Council of North Carolina.
12:00 p.m. (Noon) to 5 p.m. - Active Duty and Reserve personnel and their families will have access to Marbles Kids Museum. Both the Museum of Natural Sciences & NC Museum of History will be open to the Public at no charge.
7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.- Professional Soccer team Carolina RailHawks will host a Military Appreciation Night - and will provide at least 1,000 tickets.

Cynthia ~ This promises to be a lot of fun! My dad's a Vietnam Vet - and he and his Veteran Friends may come out for the event.
Latonia ~ It will be a lot of fun. Hopefully, your hubby will bring his "girls" up to the event. I'm surprised that this hasn't been advertised more, to be honest with you. When I mentioned it to my dad, he hadn't heard about it - although he's near Seymour Johnson (of course). :-)
