Halibut Fishing Charter in Homer Alaska booked for Vegas Bob

Robert Vegas Bob Swetz and family will be fishing for halibut July 12th 2015 ...

 

The Fishing Charter to fish halibut has been booked in Homer Alaska.

Vegas Bob, his wife and two other relatives will be fishing the second week of July.

Vegas Bob has booked a motel room for 3 nights over looking the snow cap mountains on the beach in Homer Alaska.

 

Halibut

 

Price to fish per person is $300 dollars, the charter supplies the poles, reals, bait, etc.

Each person can keep only 2 fish ...

Average size is approx 80 lbs and some halibut can reach up to 350 lbs.

 

Let's wish Vegas Bob and family the best of luck catching that BIG halibut.

Who knows, if Vegas Bob catches that BIG fish he might just mail it down to the Lower 48 and have a party ...

Have had a couple of friends go on those fishing trips Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz .  Cost is a little too much for my blood.  Would rather buy it at Cosco, Sam's Club or the local fish market.

 Hello Jon and Bruce ...

Vegas Bob has crunched numbers on how much it will cost to fly RT to Alaska, the cost of the charter, etc and here is what I came up with.

RT ticket to AK = $460

Halibut Charter = $300

Motel, Gas, Food for 3 days = $500 give or take total cost = $1,260 dollars

Vegas Bob can keep 2 halibut and if the average size is 80 lbs and I catch 1 at 80 and another at 150 lbs, that leaves about 200 lbs of halibut and 40 pounds of waste

FRESH Alaska Halibut at $25 dollars per pound would be approx $5000 dollars in fish value.

Value of Halibut caught $5000 - $1260 = $3740 dollars (ahead) or in my pocket.

So my total trip to Alaska is FREE and Vegas Bob will have $3740 dollars worth of halibut in the freezer
