Have you tried this? Staging in a box.

I thought I would share something that I have done a few times and am wondering if anyone else has done it. Sometimes, when I go to a vacant bid to meet a new listing agent, I take with me a Rubber-maid tub of staging goodies. Usually it is bathroom items - some neutral towels, a tassel or two, an orchid, a lightweight picture (thank you Ginger) and if the agent has time I 'perform' a mini staging in one of the bathrooms - sort of an instant before and after:)

Anyone else do this?

I haven't done that, but it's a great idea!  Thanks.

Yes, I do it too, My box usually contains a couple neutral, but dramatic pillows and a coordinating throw. It's amazing how a well dressed, well placed couch can make a room!

Ooooooooh Stephanie - mind if I borrow your great idea?  Thanks - Julie

Great idea!  This would give homeowners and agents the opportunity to see how adding just the right items makes such a difference.

Have you ever had anyone who took the idea and then did it themselves?

Kristin - I need to put together a sofa box too:)

Kim, Julia and Amy  - give it a go and let us know how it goes.

Kristina- I just started doing this - I guess there is always the possibility they will give it a go themselves.

Stephanie, I LOVE this idea.  Thanks so much for sharing.  I should have done it on my last consult.  AND I love the orchid canvas...did you get that one at Dollar Tree?   I haven't seen that poster and I'm working on more right now...or they're drying while I blog.  :-)

Ginger - yup that's 'Ginger Art' from the Dollar Tree! As you know they are very light weight and for the mini staging they will stay up with a small push pin or some of that re-usable putty.

That's really a great idea...I was thinking the same as Kristina, having someone try to do it themselves, thinking...oh, look how easy that is.  But we know better.
