A Saluting Boy on Omaha Beach - A Memorial Day Tribute

Kathleen, WOW. I am at a loss. What an old soul. I, like you, had to wipe away tears. I am so glad that I got to see his face of total committment and concentration on his vigil. K--thank you SO much, I'm really glad that I saw this today.

Kathleen, his is the best video I've seen and loved it. I was so moved, I too had many tears. I just wanted to hug that young boy!

Kathleen-That was a moving tribute to the service members and families who answered the call to serve. Impressive.

Kathleen, I imagine that I felt what most did. I'm amazed at that 11 year old!

That was very moving and what an incredible 11 year old boy. In some ways he embodied the spirit of all those who sacrificed their lives on Normandy Beach and he made a difference. I thank Paula McDonald for posting on FB and for you taking notice and sharing it it too.

WOW is right. This is a very touching video and I got chills, too. You have to wonder where such passion in one so young came from. I admire this young man for following his heart and honoring those who died on that beach in Normancy on D Day. 

Powerful is an understatement. Thank you so much for sharing.

Very touching.  I find it is amazing that the young man showed what we can expect of our young men and women.  Just a matter of showing them what we expect, it was just a simple act of RESPECT.  Thank you so much for sharing this video with us.

A watched some of the documenties on D-Day . . . .  It was nasty and it's amazing that anyone survived the initial landing.

Kathleen, it's very touching.  Unfortunately, I think the world is forgetting more and more of these historical events and theirs lessons.

History, unfortunately, repeats itself and man doesn't seem to learn a lesson.

I saw this and like you it was deeply moving to me. What a special child to do what he did. So many of our youth don't care about the history and the fallen heros... this boy is very special... thank you for sharing it

Kathleen, I thought of your post as next week marks the 70th Anniversary of the end of World War II when the Allies accepted the surrender of Imperial Japan on September 2nd, 1945 in Tokyo Bay aboard the USS MISSOURI.

This was so moving to watch. We have a proud history in America and I love to celebrate all the national holidays. I always put out flags and remember the ones who gave their lives and the ones who are still protecting our country. God Bless America!
