Memorial Day 2015, a start to Summer and a Day of Remembrance
Our country has it's problems, but for all the ills, we are still the country that is revered almost all over the world by those that have access to the Internet and can see the real truth about us.
We can show people demonstrating in the streets in support of a cause and even against the politics of our land. This is not possible in almost 90% of the rest of the world where people would be immediately jailed or worse.
The Internet brought down the walls of Communism in Eastern Europe, once people were able to see more than their governments allowed the to see.
People attempt to cross our borders daily trying to find a place to live an work to support families.
With hard work, anyone can make a good life, and with some risk, can make an incredible life for themselves. In no other country in the world can a rags to riches story come true.
There is a cost for this however, and it is the cost of freedom. The freedom we take for granted has been won on battlefields all over the world by brave men and women that stood tall and would not let an enemy over come us. This freedom was won with their lives.
We visited the cemetery today to decorate a few graves. There were many a flag there as well as someone wanted to recognize all the graves of our deceased military people.
We owe a lot to those that bravely defended our country. Something to keep in mind when we feel we have been cheated by politicians who have somewhere also lost their focus.
