New census estimates rank Auburn 20th fastest growing city in nation

New census estimates released today show that Auburn is the 20th-fastest growing city with over 50,000 people in the nation and the fastest-growing city in Alabama from 2010-2014 when ranked by percentage change.

Census data indicate that Auburn has grown by 12.9 percent since 2010, with the population rising from 53,393 to an estimated 60,258 as of July 1, 2014.

"With the local quality of life, quality of education and business friendly environment, Auburn's growth is not a surprise,” said Auburn City Manager Charlie Duggan. “Auburn is a great community with many qualities that make people want to live here."
