DIY Drywall Finishing- Getting a Flat Butt Joint with Fiberglass Tape

I did this short video clip for all of those DIYers out there brave enough to try thier own drywall finishing on remodels and drywall repairs.

Butt joints are one of the hardest things to get right when it comes to drywall finishing!

After the new drywall was installed, I taped all of the drywall seams with a fiberglass mess drywall tape. When using fiberglass tape it's recommended to use a setting type joint compound that comes in a powder form that has to be mixed with water and not the permixed joint compound that comes in the 5 gallon buckets.

Paul, it's always the little tricks of the trade like the tip with the joint compound that make all the difference!  Thanks!
