It was truly a grand day. The golf. The crowds. The food. The drinks.
THE ORANGE JACKET!
All were fitting for our 7th annual MASTERS PARTY!
Lets start with the golf:
On a morning where the thermometer struggled to break 40 degrees, the competitors were clad in layers and stocking hats as we huddled at the practice green.
There were five of us. Kevin, Rich, Hat, Dave and I. A very small group. Hardly surpising considering the weather. Windy, cold with little ice pellets falling occasionally.
The Scoreboard
Dave Kreidler 46
Rich Bianco 46
Hat Defreeuw 48
Ken Tracy 50
Kevin Schoeck 53
So for the first time, we had a shared Orange Jacket. Congratulations to Dave and Rich.
As Hat put it, "They are both so little. They both can fit in the coat!"
The party was great. Neighbors, friends, great food, and probably a few too many cocktails.
Sean was in brewing up some killer bloody Mary's. Hoss was doing his magic in the kitchen. And Nicolas made sure the sausages weren't burning.
The fire pit was blazing late into the evening.
I think we had more than 25 people there. Rich and Adrian helped me close the party at around 10:00 PM. A full twelve hours after we teed off.
Finally, the actual Masters tournament lacked a little of the excitement that I was hoping for. Trevor Immelman held on for the victory, three strokes ahead of Tiger.
Trevor seems like a nice guy. I would have preferred a little more drama at Augusta.
I guess most of the drama for the day played out at our little 9 hole course we played this morning, River Bend.
