How can I name only 5 reasons to fall in love with this beautiful city? Even thinking about it for a few minutes, I can come up with hundreds. Thankfully, after a long struggle, I was able to accomplish the task at hand. If you wish, you may continue to read this blog to see why Greenville, SC is one of the best places to live.
1) Our beautiful downtown. One of Greenville's best attributes is definitely the very eventful downtown area. With gorgeous landscaping, many wonderful places to eat, and events happening almost every weekend; you are sure to find what you're looking for! I'll start off with some details about the events, which range from the annual Greek Festival to seasonal street parties. One of my favorite events is "Fall for Greenville", probably because it is one of the largest turn outs due to all of the amazing food supplied by the best restaurants located downtown! Visitors from all over come to try the food and drink beverages from our local breweries (you will learn more about these later). During the spring/summer time, there is FREE live music almost every where, every day! The most popular live music events are on Thursday and Friday's at the Noma Center on Main Street, called "Downtown Alive" and "Main Street Friday's". Downtown is occupied by many luxurious dining experiences; including Roost, which is conveniently located inside the Hyatt, one of the most upscale hotels looking over downtown Greenville. You can enjoy your meal inside this lavish restaurant, or outside beside the stunning waterfall.
Although I could continue telling you about our amazing downtown for the rest of this blog, I will move on to my next point, which is a park located IN downtown.
2) Falls Park on the Reedy. Oh, there is so much to say about this gorgeous park. First off, it is conveniently located right off main street. Being a huge park with so many attractions within, it receives lots of attention from locals and visitors. Many people plan photo shoots (prom, engagement, wedding, etc.) to be held on the bridge, by the waterfall, or in the gardens. You can also schedule events or reserve a park shelter within Falls Park. The TD Stage at the Peace Center is located at one of the entrance's to Falls Park, where lots of concerts are held in the warmer months.
3) Blue Ridge Mountains. Greenville is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are many parks in South Carolina that are connected to these glorious mountains; including Table Rock, Caesars Head, Devil's Fork, etc. Each of these state parks have hiking trails and many have beautiful waterfalls to view while hiking.
4) The Local Breweries. Greenville contains 3 original, local breweries; including Thomas Creek Brewery, Brewery 85, and Quest Brewing Company. There is another brewery named Swamp Rabbit Brewery located in Travelers Rest, which is only a few miles outside of Greenville. Each of these breweries create their own unique brews, allowing Greenville and it's visitors to taste many different types of beer. The numerous events held in Greenville always contain atleast 2 of the local breweries beer stands.
5) The Bon Secours Wellness Arena. So many events, so little time! This state-of-the-art 15,000 seat entertainment and sports venue is conveniently located right off of Interstate 385! Everything from Disney on Ice to The Eagles concert to our local Warriors hockey games are held here. Whenever visiting Greenville, you must go to an event at this arena!
Although there is a multitude of other reasons to fall in love with this city, including the incredible values that Greenville SC real estate has to offer, I think I have bragged about it enough. I hope that you learned a lot about this magnificent place in the wonderful state of South Carolina. Thank you for reading!
