CMA Fest is Almost Here!

Nashville doesn’t just have the nickname Music City; Nashville earned the name Music City. Case in point is two upcoming huge music festivals hitting the Greater Nashville area – CMA Fest and Bonnaroo.
CMA Fest is a massive festival celebrating country music and connecting fans to their favorite artists running June 11-14, 2015 in the heart of downtown Nashville. The Fest consists of free concerts, ticketed concerts, meet-and-greets and autograph sessions with superstars, activities, a celebrity softball game, and incredible food.
Founded as Fan Fair in 1972, the CMA Fest has been a highlight for both fans and musicians alike for more than 40 years! Crowds will likely include fans from all 50 states as well as several dozen countries around the globe. Current estimates expect approximately 80,000 people per day in downtown Nashville this year. CMA Fest is enjoyed by both tourists and locals alike and also provides a boost for the local economy. Two other little known but truly remarkable facts about CMA Fest are 1) the artists are not paid for their appearance or performance and 2) half the proceeds go to charity.
Seven free stages provide festival-goers with incredible, affordable access to some of the biggest, newest, and upcoming stars in music, including Jason Michael Carroll, Charles Esten (from TV’s Nashville,) Ashley Monroe, Danielle Bradbery, Brooke Hogan, Chuck Wicks, Mac Powell, Bucky Covington, Deana Carter, Love & Theft, Kelsea Ballerini, Trick Pony, and many, many more.
Ticketed nightly shows at LP Field include superstars Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, Zac Brown Band as well as other huge stars.
Other events around downtown include special admission to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Fan Alley (in front of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center,) and The Buckle, which hosts many activities along Broadway.
Needless to say, all of this merriment does include road closures temporarily in and around downtown over the next ten days. Primary impacts will be from First to Sixth Avenues between Broadway and Demonbreun. Considering the advanced notice as well as the practice and tradition, Nashvillians can embrace the joy, the music, the activities, and the party.
