Evanston Art Center Announces Renovation Completion

By

The Evanston At Center has not moved to its new location at 1717 Central in Evanston IL 60201. Also the Old EACColdwell Banker Evanston office is right across the street at 1710 Central. Great neighbors to have. We are excited. The photo at the right is the old EAC.

The completion of the new Evanston Art Center’s renovation at 1717 Central Street in Evanston, was announced at the center’s Spring Benefit on May 16. A team led by Podolsky|Circle CORFAC International completed the comprehensive renovation on schedule and on budget for the benefit festivities.

Podolsky|Circle principals, Randy D. Podolsky and Adam J. Tarantur, CCIM, headed the advisory team for the strategic relocation project, assisting in the acquisition of the facility for the 501(c )(3) non-profit organization. Podolsky|Circle served as Owners Representative and, in conjunction with Lebar Construction Management, also acted as Construction Manager.  The Dobbins Group was the design-build contractor.

Evanston Art Center’s new facility, totaling approximately 20,000 square feet, formerly served as an office building and was ideally suited, based on location and functionality, for Evanston Art Center’s new home. The Center relocated facilities at 2603 Sheridan Road, their home since 1966.

Enough of that polotical stuff. We love the EAC and I, Noah Seidenberg have taken classes at the old art center located at 2603 Sheridan Road which is the Harley Clarke Mansion and up in the air as to its future.

Here is a link to the Evanston Art Center and what is offered in the new location. We are very excited about the move and the new schedule of events is very well organized. The New EAC

One of the greatest assets Chicago has besides location is the Arts and Education. The Evanston Art Center renovation was a good idea.

Chicago needs leadership and trustworthy people to move Chicago forward into the next century. Someone I can trust is:

Took care of a woman this week that is from Chicago.  She was here visiting her Mother and brought her in to purchase furniture.  I mentioned Evanston and having a friend there.....were your ears ringing?

You certainly are right in the heart of it all.  I love Chicago and the surrounding burbs especially the northern ones, we were from Racine and would come down often.

No one ever complained that they had too much art or too much culture. It brings out the best qualities of our minds.

Good morning, Noah --  nice localism post.    I've said it more than once but it bears repeating -- no one knows Evanston quite like you do -- it shows -- and it's great!

Noah,

How fun to be accross the street from an Art Center.  When we worked in LA we used to have several listings just beyond the LACounty Museum of Arts.  They had a great little restaurant, and we would stop there for lunch and take a few moments to view an exhibit.  It was our way to take a refreshing break.  A

I remember the story you wrote about this building being saved Noah. It is so important to maintain these old buildings for future generations.
