To Drive, or not to Drive??

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Dockside Realty, Inc. BK3027547

I have heard a lot of agents say they do not like to drive customers in their cars, but would rather meet them and have the customer follow them from house to house.

At times we will do this as well, just because it makes sense at the time.  However, we generally like to arrange for the customer to park somewhere and ride with us.  Most of our customers are not familiar with our area, so we give them a tour and build the relationship as we go along.  We have found that we build a stronger relationship that way, and usually have a better chance of finding those hot buttons!

What is your preference?

I think that both can be good options Roy. I think safety is the primary decision though.

Thanks Tom.  I agree that security can certainly be an issue.  However, security is an issue whether you are in the car or not.  My wife and I generally show property together, which helps as well.

In most cases we have had some time with our customers, either on the phone or emails.  We are generally dealing with people coming in from out of our area and often we have been communicating for quite a long time.

I want them to ride with me. Gives me a better idea as the comments keep coming. If I was afraid of them we would not be going anywhere.
