Where to Post (or Find) Yard Sales Online

So, you finally sorted through all of your old stuff and you're ready to have a yard sale. But how do you get the word out? Posting signs on street corners and hoping people drive by probably won't get you the amount of traffic you're looking for. These days, it's all about advertising your sale online.

Posting details on your sale on one (or all) of these sites is free, quick and simple:

  1. Craigslist - This classified ad website is the most popular place to list sales, so you'll want to start here, whether you're posting or searching.
  2. Gsalr.com - This is the best site for sale-goers to map out the various sales they want to visit, so it's a must if you want to get your sale "on the map." Plus, you can post up to 50 photos for free.
  3. YardSales.net - This site specializes in preparing unique driving routes for garage sale enthusiasts, so you'll want to be included here as well.

Other sites you can post on include YardSaleSearch.com,GarageSaleFinder.com and GarageSales.com. If you can, try to use as many sites as possible to maximize your exposure and your sales success.

Good morning Christopher Pataki,

Yes, garage sales are good during the listing, it brings lots of traffic especially if is in the right location. In general, garage sales can be fun, you get money for things you no longer want.

Don't forget Facebook Yard Sale sites. They are a great way to post about upcoming yardsales. Some of the groups around Greenville have 5,000 members or more! It's a good way to get the word out.

In my area, Phx Metro, Craig's List is the go to place for yard and garage sales.

Decluttering can be overwhelming, but the anticipation of garage sale income is a great motivator.
