SPOKANE HOOPFEST 2018 COMING SOON

Hoopfest, one of Spokane's most exciting and well attended outdoor events, is the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament on THE PLANET  according to its official website, and nearly 6000 Hoopfest Spokane 2015 teams register each year to compete. Cities and towns around the nation model similar street ball events but Spokane has them all beat. The games take place on the city streets right in the heart of the downtown.

Teams of four players with creative names (such as Rock Lobsters)  and costumes (such as tie-dye) meet streetside next to more serious players and compete for prizes and a chance to play in a final round.  The goal:  winning the championship for their age bracket.

Who competes? The youngest players must be finishing 2nd Grade and the oldest players, well that's a personal decision! Teams consist of friends, neighbors, siblings, AAU athletes and professional ball player wanna-bes!

Hoopfest players come in all sizes Treat yourself to Hoopfest, a Spokane spectacle, June 30 to July 1.

You will be glad you did.  The games begin at 8 AM.  Aside from passion for the game, athletes and spectators alike are treated to music, entertainment, shopping, food and all the trappings of a really BIG OUTDOOR SPOKANE EVENT.  A Team Tracker system allows players and fans to follow the progress of their favorite teams online.

Hoopfest began in 1990 and remains as popular as ever. Spokane streeets are blocked off and the portable backboards are positioned for action come rain or shine as players compete from all over the country.  Thousands of volunteers have given graciously of their time and continue to do so and generous corporate sponsors ensure that funding goes to the Spokane Hoopfest Association whose mission statement is "to create the best basketball weekend on Earth".

Sign up to be a volunteer.

Hoopfest is just one of many community events that make Spokane a great place to work and play. If you are inspired to relocate to the great State of Washington, and desire to enjoy the many benefits of the region, let me help you finance your new home.  I guarantee that I do it better than playing basketball.

Jack - This sounds like a fantastic event. I competed in a few of these street basketball tournaments here in Arizona. Spokane is certainly a basketball mecca, being home to Gonzaga as well. We toured the university this last summer, and the campus was filled with kids of all ages playing hoops. It was obviously a summer basketball camp.
