Not much draws people to open houses.  The best I have seen is the paper and signs.

I think the open house is fading away. I have noticed that my numbers of attendance have dropped in recent years.

We have been successfull at open houses.  Despite the cold and rain this past weekend we had 3 groups through.  In this market that is better than none.  We have to remember that people going through an open house are trying to eliminate the properties they don't want.  Some have become talented enough to do that on-line or so they think.  We as agents need to communicate that if the home is half of what they want e.g. Ranch, same beds bath and square footage and room sizes are similar they need to take a look.  We have been able to pull people in unadvertised opens with just signs and lots of balloons.  Acitivty picks up if we advertise the open on our website, realtor.com and the paper.

I will be holding an open house this Sunday and it's supposed to be a beautiful Spring day I expect a great turn out as it 's a nice property.

I'd be happy if anyone showed up!  Even if it's the neighbor or a tire-kicker-anything to alleviate the boredom!  The best open house I had was April '07 during a Nor-Easter...Cold, driving rain/sleet, and wind-we had a large turnout.  Go figure.

I had an open house this last Sunday. I had 3 families come through. I would have liked more but I did get 1 out of the 3 to sign my register. So I did pick up one contact. It's funny that people just won't sign the register. Last  year we were giving away a large gas card..... I actually had people tell me that they didn't need the gas card... and we were talking about a $1500 gas card.

I was wondering the same thing! How do we get more people to sign the register? (I might have to do a blog on that on) I had 5 groups come through my open house Sunday and got 2 first names and one email  address ....

I don't do many OPen Houses. I don't see the traffic thru them whatsoever. Most agents i know have done away with them altogether just like classified ads.

With the high price of gas I'm considering a gas card drawing, Who would not register for a $100.00 gas card...
