West Hills Tour of a Historic Architectural Treasure!

On Saturday morning, June 13, historian Charles Fisher will describe efforts to have the Circle S ranch house at Woodlake & Saticoy declared a registered historic cultural monument by the city of Los Angeles.

Mr. Fisher's presentation will be at the site of another historic cultural monument in West Hills, the Craig Hacienda at Peppergate Ranch, currently the home of Dodd and Dr. Elizabeth Harris.

The program will follow tours led by the Harrises of their home, which was designed by the famous Los Angeles architect Paul Revere Williams. In the early 1970s, the house was a favored party location for the rock & roll elite, including John Lennon and Neil Sedaka.

The tours of the Craig Hacienda will begin at 10 a.m. Photos and documents relating to the Craig Hacienda and the Circle S Ranch will be on display. Refreshments will be served by the WestHills Sunshine Club.

Please RSVP to me and I'll give you the address to the Harrises' home. We'll be asking for voluntary donations to help pay the costs of applying for historic cultural monument status for the Circle S Ranch. Any extra funds will be donated to the West Hills Sunshine Club.
