Green Home Certification Tallahassee

Looking to get a home certified in the Tallahassee area...

For about 4 months now, I have been actively working as a Green Home Certifying Agent with the Florida Green Building Coalition, and have worked on over 100,000 sq. ft. of green buildings in the Tallahassee area. Now, I am really excited to say, if you want to build a LEED for homes green home in the Tallahassee area, myself and one other field agent are now able to provide the field checking, consulting, and assistance with the LEED for homes standards.

This last week we participated in a class at the Florida Solar Energy Center. All participants were required to already be either: 1) LEED AP credentialed; 2) Florida Green Building Coalition Green Home Certifying Agents; or 3) certified HERS raters... The class covered the basics of the LEED for homes standards, and prepared all participants to act as field agents for the LEED for homes standards.

Hi Alex,
I have a client coming to my area that wants to build a "green" house but I cannot find a builder in the area that has the expertise or knowledge. We have done much research and there just is no one anywhere nearby.

Hi Cynthia,

Thanks for the comment and glad to hear you have someone interested in building green in your area. If you are having difficulty locating green professionals, the best resource in the country is the EcoBroker network (www.ecobroker.com). All EcoBrokers have extensive training in green building, and most are very well networked in the local green community. If you look on the home page for EcoBroker, you can find a search bar that lets you locate an EcoBroker near to you. Contacting them is probably your best bet for building or going green locally.
