Hudson FL is located north of Tampa on the west coast, and is considered to be within the Tampa Bay area. Hudson, FL is a waterfront & farm/ranch community on the Gulf of Mexico; roughly 12 miles north of New Port Richey, FL. It extends eastward from the Gulf of Mexico. Tampa, FL is approximately 40 miles to the south and east; an easy ride on the Suncoast Parkway.  The eastern portion of Hudson has large, open areas of land while the western portion  is crowded with homes and subdivisions.
