Geno and I were hungry for seafood and enjoy the excellent food and service at Eddie V’s in the Arboretum. I prefer a Chardonnay and Geno red but we decided to take a taste test of various Pinot Noirs. It was fun to explore possibilities of something fresh which could satisfy both our taste buds.
We settled on Meiomi and so glad we did! The name means “coast” and it is a California wine from the Caymus Vineyards. It is a combination of Pinor Noir and Chardonnay...not a traditional blend! It offers an exciting chemistry of berry, oak, earth and spice notes. It’s a medium weight and affordable; ready to drink at release.
It was a perfect complement to the “tower” of seafood delights Eddie V’s is famous for creating! We learned Meiomi was awarded the prestigious 2014 Market Watch Wine Leaders Choice Award for “Wine Brand of the Year.”
Cheers and if you’re looking for a wine to remember..try Meiomi Pinot Moir!
