Let me start this off by saying that anytime someone claims to have a special cure for pretty much anything, I switch skeptic mode on full and check that my wallet is secure. I'm about as open to most of this stuff as Roger D. Mucci and Michael Jacobs are to their pet psychics.
However.....this actually seems to work, it's really simple, and it's free.
I can usually fall asleep pretty easy, mainly because I read until I can't keep my eyes open anymore, but I also wake up a lot in the middle of the night, my brain starts chewing on something, and it can be really difficult to get back to sleep.
I heard about the 4-7-8 breathing exercise about a month ago, and gave it a middle of the night try. It worked, and has been working pretty well ever since. It's not magic, nor, in my case, is it instantaneous, but I'll usually be back asleep within a couple of minutes. It also seems to be effective at generating a nice relaxing calm at any time of the day.
