How to Look after the Lawn of Your South Tampa Home This Summer

Many people look forward to the summer season. After all, this is the  time of the year when the sun is shining, everyone is mingling outside, and you are looking nice and tan. However, the long scorching days of summer may bring torture to your lawn. Buyers looking for homes for sale in South Tampa area will not be impressed with a dry and neglected lawn, so be sure to look after your lawn by following these tips.

Learn how to properly take care of the lawn of your South Tampa homes for sale this summer!

1. Mow your lawn regularly

To keep the lawn of your South Tampa waterfront home for sale in top shape try to mow it at least once or twice a week. During summertime, avoid cutting the grass too short because it takes more energy to regrow grass shoots during hot weather. Keep your blade razor-edged by sharpening it once a year.

2. Feed and condition your lawn

To keep your lawn looking green and healthy, apply a feed directly after mowing. Choose a lawn feed that has a blend of nutrients that can support and sustain your lawn during the summer season. Keep in mind that a well nourished and conditioned lawn is better able to withstand the heat of the sun.

3. Water your lawn properly

To keep the lawn of your South Tampa home for sale well-maintained, water your lawn early in the morning rather than in the middle of the day or at night. During summer, the water evaporates more quickly so you need to make sure that the water will really reach the roots. To stay healthy in the heat of the summer, your lawn requires about 1 inch of water per week.

4. Recycle your grass clippings

Do not bag your clippings, instead mulch and return them back into the grass. Doing so provides organic  nutrients and does not contribute to the thatch. You may consider collecting clippings if your grass has a severe disease and you do not want to further contaminate the lawn.

By following these tips, you can keep your lawn beautiful during summertime without spending a lot of time and money. A well maintained lawn sends a positive message to potential buyers.

"A well-maintained lawn sends a positive message to potential buyers." I agree! Impress your buyers at first glance so they'd be more than willing to check out the rest of the house.
