One of THE WISEST people I’ve known in my life was MY GRANDMOTHER...She never learned English, never went to school, of course, couldn’t read or write, never held a job outside the home...YET...
When it came to getting help with a seemingly insurmountable problem...
MY GRANDMOTHER was ‘MY GO TO GUYGAL’...!!!
MY GRANDMOTHER had a great relationship with her maker...As evidenced by her very consistent and regular PRAYER LIFE...She spent her quiet time every day with THE LORD...
She always wore an apron over her regular clothing, and in one of its two sizeable pockets were HER ROSARY, and in the other were ‘JORDAN ALMONDS’ or some other tasty confection which she would dutifully hand out to her grandchildren...!!!
She had no problem counting AMERICAN MONEY...so...The butcher, The baker, and the grocer knew better than to try to shortchange her...
She had a confident but humble demeanor...AND...
MY GRANDMOTHER never presented herself as a ‘KNOW IT ALL’...!!!
She taught me many things, but I think the most important is to ALWAYS TRUST IN GOD...AND YOU DON’T NEED A FORMAL EDUCATION TO KEEP LEARNING...
LIKE JESUS, SHE GREW IN WISDOM, AGE, AND GRACE...A TRUE FOLLOWER OF CHRIST...!!!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND...AND, OH, BY THE WAY, HER SON, MY FATHER, DIDN’T FALL FAR FROM HIS MOTHER’S TREE...!!!
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL...ESPECIALLY TO YOU, DAD...!!!
