Thought for Thursday....If at first you don't succeed...

By
Real Estate Agent with Remax First Realty II 0790808

We lost a contract today.

A seller chose another agent.

It happens.

It's not the first, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

And I'm OK with that.

Next time, we'll put in a bit more effort. Make one more phone call. Send one more post card. Show up one minute earlier. Practice our listing presentation one more time.

Complacency is a horrible monster. It keeps you from getting any better and growing. A little failure now and then is a good thing. Keeps the edge sharp.

Today's lesson.....Embrace losses. Every loss leads to another victory.

Great approach to your business.  If we let one setback drag us down we will soon lose all hope.  Great positive thinking and keep up the hard work.

Good morning Wayne and Jean, sometimes it's not even about you, it's all about them "sellers". When one door closes, five others will open!

You are correct.  Every loss is not necessarily a loss but more of a lesson.  So the other agent got the deal, big deal.  When that agent overprices it and it doesn't sell, you'll get the listing at that point.

Wayne / Jean, you guys are "awesome"!!!  As a salesperson, we had better embrace rejection and failure to GROW!   We become better at the words we use, the follow ups that need attention (over and over), and the skills to close!  Take what works for you to "get out of your own way", and some will, some won't and so what.... or I like this better, some will, some will, some will... good follow up!!

We do tend to get complacent don't we? Once in a while we need a reality check! (Happened to us recently too.
