OK, today I am messing with you. There was no way I can make this scene say "WORK", so I won't try.
Today was all about being on a great beach with some great friends, a couple I know from California. The husband, Richard Wiens, is now the managing editor of www.civilbeat.com - and if you haven't read this online news outlet, you should. They do in-depth articles about everything that is important to you, the Hawaiian resident. They have recently done a series of articles about the high cost of living here and the low property taxes which attracts investors from all over. (Aha, I did manage to get some real estate angle in here.) As Richard says, "what we don't cover is car crashes."
Here's an example, they just covered the fact that Hawaii is now the first state to raise the legal smoking age to 21, and that includes e-cigarettes. Read all about it here.
His wife, Laura, a dear friend of mine (you know we need gal pals to make sense of our personal lives), is an artist of exceptional talent, who still sells her art in a Carmel-by-the-Sea gallery and now also here in Hawaii in trendy Haleiwa (where President Obama and family get their "shave ice"). Check out her seascapes and other creations on www.laurawiensartist.com
And speaking of the high cost of living in Hawaii, that can include coming to visit. Looking for a low cost stay? Check out Waimanalo - here's a TripAdvisor link that will tell you all about it. Make you want to book your ticket right now!!!
In the meantime, here's a photo where I spent my day today. The ocean goes on forever and so does the beach.
