No internet! A lesson in making the most of the moment

What do you do without the Internet? Organize files, generate some leads from the contacts in your phone, write a blog in Microsoft Word to publish on Active Rain once the router decides to give up that precious gift of high speed access? Last week we had little-to-no Internet here in the office and as you can imagine, lots of tasks had to be set-aside for a moment.  Luckily we had some non-internet related tasks we got to tackle before the start of the weekend.

On Thursday we worked on creating some marketing materials for an event we had at Carolina Springs Golf Course this weekend. We have a beautiful home listed there with the most unbelievable backyard that backs right up to the 11th hole. We didn’t have to rely on the Internet to create some pretty swift looking flyers. No world wide web and we managed to create some signage to drawl people over to our tent for free water. I gathered up some business cards, created a contact slip for us to add to our database at a later date, and sent the flyer for approval from our client…via my phone of course.

On Saturday we set up a tent in the backyard where we handed out free waters, flyers with information about the home and signed people up for a Visa Gift Card Giveaway. It was definitely a unique opportunity for us to generate some potential buyers for the home and future buyers as well. The seller’s are excited for what the opportunity might bring!

So what would you do without Internet? Could you make the most of your day or would you go running to the nearest Starbucks? We managed to make the most of our internet free Friday!

We are very reliant on technology. We would probably clean the office!
