It would not be right to talk about this Marine without talking first about Navy Seal Michael Monsour - who sacrificed his life to save others by falling on a grenade. I mention him, because he also saved the subject of this blog entry.

I am posting this because I am so sick of the people who consistently say our troops don't want to be in Iraq. Well I'd like you all to meet United States Marine Gunnery Sgt. William “Spanky” Gibson.

You see Spanky Gibson was shot in the knee. It did so much damage that he had to have his leg amputated. And once healed there was only one place this Marine wanted to be - back in Iraq with his brothers in arms. People ask me why I want to be a United States Citizen? It is because of people like United States Marine Gunnery Sgt. William “Spanky” Gibson.

You are a hero, sir and I salute you. Thank you for defending my freedom.

How many Christians can say the same thing...."When I was hurt mortally...I wanted BACK in, so I could serve the Lord I love so much!!"

I love it when I hear of Christians who are like that....

=-)

Well Simon, honestly, this guy and so many like him ARE heroes.  It is our stinking politics and non-sensical rules of engagement (sometimes) that keep these people from getting thier job done.  If you will take the politicians out of it, perhaps, the strongest military in the world could DO their job and come home.

That man is a true hero. It is people like him that keep this nation great and free. Kind of makes what the rest of us do for a living look stupid.

First a great big thanks to the gunny SGT.  A real American hero.

I have a newphew whose stationed in Jacksonville Florida in the US Navy. He's our sailor man and we're so proud of him and his comrades.  Our military personel are the best the world has ever seen.

While the liberals might pick one out of 100 that are ideolgically against bringing freedom to the un-free people's of the world....... This is the example which needs to be spread across the media platform the most.

Thanks for the post, Simon and

may God Bless the United States Armed Forces and our great homeland.

Simon,

Thanks for keeping this story alive!  Do you have any friends that do not live here yet that would like to take the place of some whining Americans that don't understand what it is we have here and why these guys do what they do usually all day, everyday.  I would love to make a trade, so to say!  I am so grateful to know your thoughts on this great country we live in. knowing you are here because you WANT to be!

P.S.  I thought I read somewhere that you are now a Jesus Mousketeer or Christian!

Couldn't resist!

Hi guys. Greatness is more than potential. It is the execution of that potential. Beyond the raw talent. You need the appropriate training. You need the discipline. You need the inspiration. You need the drive. Help me! Could you help me find sites on the: Article by a teacher about their job. I found only this - north virginia real estate. Don put your financial emergencies off until payday. This article looks at the increased use of an open multi bank channel to support the automation of traditional trade finance through letters. Waiting for a reply , Forbes from India.
