HOA's provide a worthwhile service to residents of a community. They are put in place to uphold a standard and to maintain property values within the community. Occasionally there is media involvement regarding a dispute between a homeowner and the HOA - typically with the HOA portrayed as the villain. HOAs have been accused of being unpatriotic and unfair for not allowing American flags and wheelchair ramps?
