My wife and I make up a two person broker team. I have been a Realtor for 3 years and she has 12 under her belt. I come from a background of sales jobs so I am used to the cycles of sales. This however is something completely different. Everything you hear or read says the market is doomed! My friends ask me if I'm doing OK. "I am doing better than ever" I say. They usually look confused and say "But I though the market was horrible". "Only if your selling" I say "this is the perfect time to buy!" "We need to get you in on the greatest buyers market in about 20 years!!!" I have really focused on getting my buyers great deals and it has payed off big! What about people who need to sell? Well they are everywhere. Nobody ever really consults thier Realtor about the housing market before they have a baby, get a new job, go to an out of state college, or get divorced. They just make the call after they are already in need. The listings will always be there it just takes a better Realtor to get them sold in this market. I just do more and work harder than the next Realtor to get my listings sold. I track what everyone else is doing then do more so my listings stand out. That doen't mean I spend more either." I do More" My wife and I are having the best year ever! 16 Transaction sides as of 4/14/2008. No assistants ,no transaction help, no paying for leads Just two brokers and some hard work. The only money I spend is on effective listing advertising. I still pay very close attention to every bit of news and read the all papers. There is just no better source for getting price reductions.
