As
the weather warms up in the Pacific
Northwest
we look to spend more time
outdoors
and King County Regional Trails
can provide a healthier way to keep more
green
in your pocketbook while putting
more
green in your adventures. King County
has
one of the largest off-road trail systems in the United States,
created in part by converting Milwaukee, Chicago, St Paul and
Pacific
retired and abandon Railroad lines into trails that are open
for non-motorized use. These trails continue to grow in size
and
popularity.
°eco-beneficial
trails and adjacent
protected lands act as a
watershed and wildlife habitat for
salmon,
birds and other native
species.
One such trail in King
County is the:
°snoqualmie
valley
trail
consists of old railroad
ties and crushed rock
that cross miles of countryside, passing
rivers,
farms, and historical
points of interest along
mostly level terrain. * Nick
Loutsis Park in
Carnation WA is one of
several points with direct
access to the Snoqualmie
Valley
Trail. Discover
