Spinster Sisters in Golden, CO
We live in a world full of chemicals. Everything is packed with them. Everything from food, to lotions, to soaps, to chapstick, to sunscreen. Well we found a great alternative to packing your body full of chemicals! Spinster sisters was founded in 1994 when they realized the same thing we realized… that everything is jam packed full of chemicals and that there needs to be an alternate solution. So the two sisters went off and started attending fairs and craft shows and selling their natural products.
They have a large assortment of needs ranging from soaps, lotions, lip balms to even pet products!
Another thing that they strive to accomplish is reduce the amount of waste that is dumped into our environment. Their packaging is minimal and is recyclable. But instead of having boxes and cans they reduce to minimal packaging. Instead of putting shampoo into a thick plastic bottle that fills our landfills they do a shampoo bar which prevents plastic from ruining our environment.
Spinster Sisters in Golden, CO truly lives the reduced
carbon footprint lifestyle which is why we love them.
So we tried their products and here’s what we think!
Lavender Lime Soap: this soap is amazing. It left skin feeling so refreshed and clean! Skin felt moisturized. Also, there was no funky film left over after the soap. The scent lasted for hours!
Bug Spray: This one is DEET free yet works miracles (for those of you that want to argue that it has to have DEET) – It smelled great and repelled bugs during an entire BBQ. Also, skin didn’t feel sticky afterwards. Not a single bug bite was found!
Pet Soap: We know this soap works great on a Golden/Husky mix. Even with the thick fur the soap was easy to apply as you only have to rub the bar against them and was easy to evenly distribute. Best part was that the scent was not too overpowering but lasted.
Lip Balm: This lip balm truly does the trick when it comes to moisturizing. They have great flavors that will not disappoint. Our admin is a huge fan of the lavender that she picked up at a fair in Arvada.
Muscle Stuff: this all natural sports rub is a must have in everyone’s house! Erik & Janet are huge into riding bikes and use this to help relive soreness and get themselves ready for their next ride. It’s good for your skin and it smells good. Correction… Erik says “it smells phenomenal!!!”
