July 4Things to Do on July 4th In and Around Reno, NV

It’s time to pull out your best red, white and blue outfit and make plans for your Independence Day celebrations! You could host a barbecue for friends and family. You could spend the day soaking up some sun by the pool. Or, you could choose something from our list of things to do on July 4th in and around Reno, NV.

Kick Off the Party Early

Start your celebration early by attending the Day on the Village Green located at 960 Lakeshore Boulevard in Incline Village, NV on July 3rd. This address is in the 89451 zip code area. Expect to hear world class music from Grand Funk Railroad, Foreverland, Ike & Martin, and Luke Stevenson. The music begins first thing in the morning and continues throughout the night. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper celebration with a parade on the Village Green.

WOW Factor Attractions is providing the adventure for the day with activities that include a Parachute Rocket, a Rock Climbing Wall, and Xorbing Balls. Local food trucks will be on the premises offering up tasty treats and delicious beverages. No outside food or beverages are allowed inside the event.

This celebration is taking place in the rain or the bright sunshine. General admission is $60 in advance and $75 at the door. VIP tickets can be purchased for $125 in advance and $150 at the door. Children who are age 12 and under get in free with a paying adult. For more information, call 775-298-1010. For ticket sales, call 877-987-6487.

On the Rocks, Please!

Celebrate your July 4th on the rocks at the celebration in Virginia City, NV. The Virginia City Fourth of July Celebration is presented by Comstock Mining Inc. Virginia City is just a 30-minute ride from Reno, but visiting this town is like stepping through a time machine. Add some old west flair to your celebration this year.

Festivities begin at Noon with the Fourth of July Parade. The parade lasts approximately 30-minutes and begins at the Fourth Ward School. If you’re looking for a way to make the day even more memorable, take the steam train into town from Carson City. They are running a special for this occasion. Don’t forget to pick up your raffle tickets that go on sale at 9 AM at a booth in the center of town.

The Comstock Cowboys Second Amendment Concert begins at 6 PM in the parking lot next to the Bucket of Blood Saloon. This is their 16th year providing quality entertainment for this celebration. The raffle prizes will be awarded at 7 PM and include a Thompson Center Hawken 50 caliber muzzle loader.

When night falls, the fireworks will begin! This fireworks display is well-known for being one of the longest displays, as it clocks in around 30-minutes in length. These fireworks echo off Mt. Davidson and can be seen throughout the town. Bring your blankets and settle down at Miner’s Park for a picnic and a first-class view of the night sky exploding in sparkles of colored light. Just remember to keep all your drinks, even alcohol, in a plastic cup. For more information, call 775-847-7500.

Oh Say, Can You See?

The Nugget is hosting the Annual Star Spangled Sparks Fireworks Show and Fourth of July Celebration. Make your way to 1100 Nugget Avenue in Sparks, NV. This address is in the 89431 zip code area. The festivities kick off at 4 PM and end at 11 PM.

There will be plenty to do with activities that include face painting, magic shows, and carnival style rides. It wouldn’t be a proper celebration without the clowns and magicians walking around to entertain the crowds. There will be games to win, and tickets for rides can be purchased at a booth in that area. Live music will fill the air throughout the day.

There will be plenty of delicious food and beverage options from the vendors on site. Don’t forget that you can choose to enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants inside The Nugget, too! Some of the restaurants will be staying open later to accommodate the after-fireworks crowd.

Speaking of fireworks, you don’t want to miss this excellent display that is the longest running fireworks display in the region. They set off the fireworks from the roof of The Nugget, giving everyone a perfect view of the celebration of lights. For more information, call 775-356-3428.
