Now Trending: Valley Renters Looking Into Home Ownership
Paying at least $50 more for rent this year than last year? Why not buy a home instead?
This thought now appears to cross the mind of most renters in the Valley and some are considering or have started acting on it. In an azcentral.com article, a market study done by Jeanie Teyechea, a Realtor with HomeSmart and the resort manager for Montesa at Gold Canyon, showed that most renters pay $50 to $75 more than they did a year ago, translating to an increase of about 15%. And when rent keeps on going up and mortgage rates are at their historical low, there might be no better time to buy a home then than now.
And she noted that it's not only current renters turned potential homebuyers who are in the market for a home. Find out more in the original azcentral.com article by clicking here.
As also pointed out in the said article as well as a previous post we published, a gradual and modest increase to rates is being seen. Home buyers who want to get the most bang for their bucks should take advantage of the mortgage rates now before they continue to trend up and beyond affordable payment levels.
